The Hapton Inn is a great place for all the family, with the warmest of welcomes and real hospitality from owners Nicholas, Michelle and family.

The handsome grey stone building started life as a coaching stop in the 18th century.

It was originally called the Union Flag. As well as a beer house it was used as a casualty clearing house, alms house, 1st aid  post and even a mortuary in the 1800's for the quarrymen on hameldon.

The interior has been carefully updated while retaining some of the best original features.

There's good off road parking at the side of the pub, along with a large beer garden with smoking shelter and children's play area to the rear.

The cosy bar and the raftered dining area are home to an eclectic assortment of objects, including plates and earthenware bottles, copper ornaments and old farming implements.

The Hapton Inn has earned a considerable reputation down the years for the quality and variety of its food, which is served at lunchtime and evening Monday to Friday and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. The dining area has seating for 55 people, but there is room for upwards of 100 altogether in the pub and an additional 40 people in the beer garden. There is a separate children's play room inside.

We can cater for everything from a quick lunchtime snack to evening main courses. We can also cater for large parties for special occasions such as birthdays or funerals. We can also provide buffets for functions.

There's an equally good selection of beers and lager with 3 cask ales including the award winning Timothy Taylor's Landlord, and a guest ale (click to view previous guest ales) from a micro brewery, plus our traditional scrumpy cask cider.
